Though still at college, he has already built up an impressive body of digital work creating interesting explorations in pixel form. His subjects vary from imagery of the moon to interpreting classic scenes from horror cinema—like his own take on the famous blood elevator scene from “The Shining”.

It is the fantastical element of light, the part that enchants, excites and charms us – a sky full of stars, a glittering diamond and mirror chandelier or sunlight dancing on the floor. Based in Amsterdam, the artists and filmmakers Lernert & Sander have been known for their high-conceptual art films, eye-catching installations and keen fashion aesthetic. Driven by their cheeky sense of humour, the duo’s simple yet stunning approach has earned the duo numerous awards, international accolades and industry-wide recognition.
“Cubes” project was commissioned by the dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. Made for a special documentary photography issue about food, they transformed 98 unprocessed foods into extremely precise 2.5cm cubes, aligned on a staggered grid.
