The cassette tape is simply a magnetic tape recording format for audio recording and playback. It was introduced back in 1962 by the dutch company Philips. Between the early 1980s and early 2000s, the cassette was one of the two most common formats for prerecorded music — first alongside the LP/vinyl record and later the CD (compact disc).
It’s interesting that this type of media is utilized till this day, also oddly hypnotic and nostalgic watching cassette tapes being made. Don’t forget to hit the play button.
